  In my line of work, I all too often end up detailing vehicles that have been brutally “sandblasted” by our Calgary roads. The “pickle” chemical that keeps our roads free of ice – as well as the gravel that provides life-saving traction – both do a REAL number on the paint of our rides. Such a shame to detail someone's pride and joy with paint that is all chipped up.

  Modern water-based paints are not nearly as robust as those from even 15 years ago.
